East Coast Fighting Championship brings Professional MMA Tournaments to the Regional Level New Venture focused on providing heightened visibility for professional MMA competitors while Partnering with the local Community and increasing Event Entertainment Value
Lowell, MA - April 20, 2014
East Coast Fighting Championship (ECFC) today announced its plans to bring professional MMA Tournaments to the Regional level. Each ECFC event will include 7 professional tournament bouts including quarter-finals, semi-finals and a tournament championship in three different weight classes. Each fight card will be rounded out with some of the best amateur and professional matches in the region.
“Our vision is to become the premier MMA Fight League on the East Coast. In partnership with the local community, we are providing the opportunity for top MMA athletes to get recognized at the national level while returning to the community at the same time. Our tournament style approach to our events provides the opportunity for the best regional fighters to gain visibility beyond the local level, which is critical to pursue a career on national cards such as Bellator, WSOF and the UFC”, said Brian Gillespie, one of ECFC’s Founders.
Our principals have successfully placed fighters in the UFC, Bellator, Invicta, and the World Series of Fighting. This increased visibility and promotion enables top competitors to more readily pursue their dreams as a professional MMA competitor. We strive to bring you not only the best regional fight card in the industry, but to provide a night of entertainment unrivaled in the industry.
ECFC 1, our inaugural event, is scheduled for June 13th at the hallowed Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA, and will feature the quarterfinals of ECFC’s first professional tournament. This 135 lb. tournament will feature four professional bouts with the winners advancing to the semi-finals in ECFC 2, and the tournament championship belt being awarded in ECFC 3. An exciting Professional main event, some of the best amateur bouts in the area and an exciting night of entertainment and community involvement rounds out the night.
Founded in 2014, East Coast Fighting Championship’s vision is to become the East Coast’s premier tournament style Professional MMA organization. Our foundation is built upon three core principles: presenting top athletes with the opportunity to get recognized at the national level; partnering with the local community; and providing a night of entertainment unrivaled in the industry. Our Professional MMA tournaments span three events, culminating with the tournament championship.
